We, around 30 students from IISc Bangalore, attended a rock climbing camp organized by GETHNAA (General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure) on 12-13 March, 2011. The base of camp was at National Institute of Rock Climbing, which is situated around 3 Kms before Ramanagara on Bangalore-Mysore Highway. I am just sharing few of the photos which I clicked during the trek to Ramdevara Hill (the best part of camp).
It was a awesome experience to be part of the camp, not only because it was in Ramanagara considered as the Mecca of Rock Climbers and got to see place which has been in the movies like “Sholay” and “A Passage to India” but also learned a lesson about the nature. After seeing the photographs, I guess you will agree with me on the scenic beauty of the place, it is amazing, it has bamboo forest, it has green hills, the Ramdevara Hill is a very nice sunset view point. But only thing which hurt me to see the plastic bottles, wrappers, beer bottles/cans lying in the forest. A small water body at the top of Ramdevara Hill was full of all these . The way GETHNAA conducted the camp and taught us lesson about the nature (will be writing more in later posts), it was amazing, I would say one of best of experience in my life. Here by, I request you all to be little environment sensitive, please do not through anything anywhere which is harmful for nature, specially when you are on outing, otherwise that place will become history, when your kids will plan for an outing.
You can find more details about GETHNAA on google, still I am sharing their contact information here:
